Fund Established for Palmer Clinic

The David Fund is a special endowment fund for the support of the Palmer Clinic. The Fund has been established by the friends of a Detroit area gay physician who was killed in an auto accident in July 1982. The doctor had provided discreet care and advice to a large number of gay men and women in the Detroit area. He served on the board of the Alternative Health Clinic and had agreed to serve on the board of the Palmer Clinic just before he was killed.

Contributions in his memory should be made to the "Palmer ClinicDavid Fund". All contributions are tax deductible. Contributions to remember others who share his concern for the health of Detroit's gay community are welcomed. Ohio Gets New

Gay Disco

Toledo, Ohio Ohio's newest and largest disco is about to open! THE OLD PLANTATION. Located in northwest Ohio, this club is the offspring of the O.P., popular Akron which has been noted for its fine service to the community.

In Toledo, the Old Plantation hopes to offer the same fine service for which have given them their reputation as a great establishment in the gay community. The club will be offering top name. entertainers at least once a month and top notch shows on a weekly basis. All this combined with a super sound system and spectacular light show, being brought in from New York, will provide excellent atmosphere for partying and socializing.

The Old Plantation will also be available for benefit events to help the community's efforts. It will also serve as a place to hold meetings and banquets. Opening soon Watch for details. Bar-Owners will

Sometime in March of 1983, the Bar Owners. Guild of Detroit will host their annual benefit at the Roostertail. It will be. called "Follies 83" and plans are currently in progress for the show. The show will feature a cast of thousands. Watch Metra for further details.

Boozing and Cruising is

part II in a series about New York. In this piece, we will explore the Manhattan night life; what's hott and what's not. Of course, there are hundreds of watering holes and nightspots in the big apple. Here, I've selected what I feel are some of the more interesting spots.

One should not be afraid of New York; it's not all that bad. Don't be afraid to use the subways. at day and walk around the streets at night. Most areas are not as bad as they say. Explore the streets and avenues. You should see Central Park (at daytime) and the Zoo too. Plan on wearing out a pair of Nike's. You'll do a lot of walking but be pleasantly exhausted.

Manhattan is a visitor's dream. The city that never sleeps really does all the work for you. South to North, the streets are all numbered consecutively so it's nearly impossible to
